Monty is the Smiths Medical Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University College London; Director of The UCL Discovery Lab at The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health; Elected Council Member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Bulletin Editor and Lead for the Perioperative Medicine Programme; Chair of The Board of the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia.
