The space medicine team investigates the effects of long duration space flight on the human body with a particular focus on the challenges of a human mission to Mars. Space medicine is one of the core components of our highly successful undergraduate course. We have worked closely with NASA and ESA in the past examining both operational and scientific aspects of human space flight and have participated in a number of reviews of Government space policy and space exploration strategy.
Over the coming years there will plenty of opportunities to get involved in Space Medicine through CASE. At present there are several opportunities for UCL students including an elective placement to UTMB & NASA, Parabolic Flight competitions with ESA and research opportunities in the Aerospace Medicine sector. We'll update this site with opportunities when they become available - stay tuned.
