Prof Mike Grocott awarded a NIHR Senior Investigator

Professor Mike Grocott

Congratulations to Xtreme Everest's Professor Mike Grocott, who has recently been received a NIHR Senior Investigator award. The award are given out each year to funded NIHR researchers who are considered the most "prominent and prestigious" and "the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research". Mike is one of 43 appointments made in the most recent round, who will join over 300 other Senior Investigators.

As part of his award, Mike will:

• Provide research leadership to the NIHR Faculty, promoting clinical and applied research in health and social care
  
• Help with planning and speaking at events
  
• Host visiting fellows and mentor Trainees
  
• Constitute a network of experts, able to provide advice to the Department of Health's Chief Scientific Adviser.
